The energy efficiency of new build homes means you can save on your annual energy bills compared to living in an older house. The Home Builders Federation (HBF) ‘Watt a Save‘ report found:

  • New build houses are so energy efficient you could save more than £3,100 on your annual energy bills.
  • 85% of new builds have an A or B EPC rating. Just 4% of older properties achieve the same energy-efficiency grade.
  • And based on HBF analysis of EPC ratings, buyers of new build homes could save more than £2,500 a year on average on their energy bills when the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) increases on 1 April 2023.
